Who We Are

Kids Kicking Cancer, Inc. (KKC) was founded in 1993 by a small group of health care professionals involved in the care of children with cancer. It was recognized that while there were many adults with cancer, few resources focused on the needs of children diagnosed with this life-threatening illness.

KKC's mission became a necessity in the eyes of the medical community caring for these families. Kids Kicking Cancer is a nonprofit organization established to host events and programs for families with a child afflicted with cancer. Programs provide support, education, and the opportunity for networking with others who have been through similar experiences. KKC feels strongly that children with cancer and their families deserve this ongoing support not only from this organization but also from the community, and that such positive support gives the children the best chance to defeat this devastating disease.

Our Goals

* To have the Louisiana Legislature declare an official day for children afflicted with cancer. (In 2003 the Louisiana Legislature officially declared the Saturday following Mother's Day as Kids Kicking Cancer Day!)

* To increase public awareness so that Kids Kicking Cancer's resources and events are available to all children afflicted with cancer in the state of Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf Coast region.

* To increase awareness nationwide and establish Kids Kicking Cancer, Inc. chapters in each of the 50 states.
